English - Qaribullah & Darwish Surah Nooh - Aya count 28
إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦٓ أَنْ أَنذِرْ قَوْمَكَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۭ ﴿١﴾
We sent Noah to his nation, saying: 'Give warning to your nation before a painful punishment overtakes them'
قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ إِنِّى لَكُمْ نَذِيرٌۭ مُّبِينٌ ﴿٢﴾
He said: 'My nation, I am a clear warner for you.
أَنِ ٱعْبُدُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَٱتَّقُوهُ وَأَطِيعُونِ ﴿٣﴾
Worship Allah, fear Him, and obey me.
يَغْفِرْ لَكُم مِّن ذُنُوبِكُمْ وَيُؤَخِّرْكُمْ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍۢ مُّسَمًّى ۚ إِنَّ أَجَلَ ٱللَّهِ إِذَا جَآءَ لَا يُؤَخَّرُ ۖ لَوْ كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ ﴿٤﴾
He will forgive you your sins and respite you till an appointed term. When the term of Allah arrives it cannot be deferred; if you but knew'
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّى دَعَوْتُ قَوْمِى لَيْلًۭا وَنَهَارًۭا ﴿٥﴾
'My Lord' said he, 'night and day I have called my nation,
فَلَمْ يَزِدْهُمْ دُعَآءِىٓ إِلَّا فِرَارًۭا ﴿٦﴾
but my call has only increased them in running away.
وَإِنِّى كُلَّمَا دَعَوْتُهُمْ لِتَغْفِرَ لَهُمْ جَعَلُوٓاْ أَصَٰبِعَهُمْ فِىٓ ءَاذَانِهِمْ وَٱسْتَغْشَوْاْ ثِيَابَهُمْ وَأَصَرُّواْ وَٱسْتَكْبَرُواْ ٱسْتِكْبَارًۭا ﴿٧﴾
Each time I called them so that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers in their ears and wrapped themselves in their garments, and persisted becomingvery proud.
ثُمَّ إِنِّى دَعَوْتُهُمْ جِهَارًۭا ﴿٨﴾
I called to them clearly,
ثُمَّ إِنِّىٓ أَعْلَنتُ لَهُمْ وَأَسْرَرْتُ لَهُمْ إِسْرَارًۭا ﴿٩﴾
and indeed, I spoke to them both publicly and in secret:
فَقُلْتُ ٱسْتَغْفِرُواْ رَبَّكُمْ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ غَفَّارًۭا ﴿١٠﴾
\"Ask for forgiveness of your Lord,\" I said. \"Surely, He is the Forgiver.
يُرْسِلِ ٱلسَّمَآءَ عَلَيْكُم مِّدْرَارًۭا ﴿١١﴾
He will let loose the sky upon you in abundance
وَيُمْدِدْكُم بِأَمْوَٰلٍۢ وَبَنِينَ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ جَنَّٰتٍۢ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ أَنْهَٰرًۭا ﴿١٢﴾
and give to you wealth and sons, and provide you with gardens and rivers.
مَّا لَكُمْ لَا تَرْجُونَ لِلَّهِ وَقَارًۭا ﴿١٣﴾
What is the matter with you that you do not want the Greatness of Allah,
وَقَدْ خَلَقَكُمْ أَطْوَارًا ﴿١٤﴾
He has created you by stages!
أَلَمْ تَرَوْاْ كَيْفَ خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ سَبْعَ سَمَٰوَٰتٍۢ طِبَاقًۭا ﴿١٥﴾
Have you not seen how Allah created the seven heavens one above the other,
وَجَعَلَ ٱلْقَمَرَ فِيهِنَّ نُورًۭا وَجَعَلَ ٱلشَّمْسَ سِرَاجًۭا ﴿١٦﴾
setting in them the moon as a light and the sun as a lantern?
وَٱللَّهُ أَنۢبَتَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ نَبَاتًۭا ﴿١٧﴾
Allah has caused you to grow out of the earth,
ثُمَّ يُعِيدُكُمْ فِيهَا وَيُخْرِجُكُمْ إِخْرَاجًۭا ﴿١٨﴾
and to it He will return you. Then, He will bring you forth.
وَٱللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ بِسَاطًۭا ﴿١٩﴾
Allah has made the earth spread out for you
لِّتَسْلُكُواْ مِنْهَا سُبُلًۭا فِجَاجًۭا ﴿٢٠﴾
so that you walk in its spacious paths.'
قَالَ نُوحٌۭ رَّبِّ إِنَّهُمْ عَصَوْنِى وَٱتَّبَعُواْ مَن لَّمْ يَزِدْهُ مَالُهُۥ وَوَلَدُهُۥٓ إِلَّا خَسَارًۭا ﴿٢١﴾
Noah said: 'My Lord, they have rebelled against me and followed he whose wealth and offspring increase him only in loss,
وَمَكَرُواْ مَكْرًۭا كُبَّارًۭا ﴿٢٢﴾
they have devised a mighty plot,
وَقَالُواْ لَا تَذَرُنَّ ءَالِهَتَكُمْ وَلَا تَذَرُنَّ وَدًّۭا وَلَا سُوَاعًۭا وَلَا يَغُوثَ وَيَعُوقَ وَنَسْرًۭا ﴿٢٣﴾
and said: 'Do not renounce your gods, do not leave waddan or suwa'an or yaghutha, or ya'uqa, or nasra'
وَقَدْ أَضَلُّواْ كَثِيرًۭا ۖ وَلَا تَزِدِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ إِلَّا ضَلَٰلًۭا ﴿٢٤﴾
And they have led many astray. (Noah supplicated saying): 'Allah, do not increase the harmdoers except in error'
مِّمَّا خَطِيٓـَٰٔتِهِمْ أُغْرِقُواْ فَأُدْخِلُواْ نَارًۭا فَلَمْ يَجِدُواْ لَهُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَنصَارًۭا ﴿٢٥﴾
So because of their sins they were drowned and admitted into the Fire. They found none to help them other than Allah.
وَقَالَ نُوحٌۭ رَّبِّ لَا تَذَرْ عَلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ مِنَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ دَيَّارًا ﴿٢٦﴾
And Noah (supplicated) saying: 'My Lord, do not leave a single unbeliever upon the earth.
إِنَّكَ إِن تَذَرْهُمْ يُضِلُّواْ عِبَادَكَ وَلَا يَلِدُوٓاْ إِلَّا فَاجِرًۭا كَفَّارًۭا ﴿٢٧﴾
Surely, if You leave them they will mislead Your worshipers and father none but the immoral, and unbelievers.
رَّبِّ ٱغْفِرْ لِى وَلِوَٰلِدَىَّ وَلِمَن دَخَلَ بَيْتِىَ مُؤْمِنًۭا وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ وَلَا تَزِدِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ إِلَّا تَبَارًۢا ﴿٢٨﴾
Forgive me, My Lord, and my parents, and whosoever seeks refuge in my house as a believer, and the believers men and women alike, and do not increase the harmdoers except in ruin'
