Surah Al-Burooj ( The Big Stars ) - Aya count 22

وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلْبُرُوجِ ﴿١﴾

By the sky, (displaying) the Zodiacal Signs;

وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْمَوْعُودِ ﴿٢﴾

By the promised Day (of Judgment);

وَشَاهِدٍۢ وَمَشْهُودٍۢ ﴿٣﴾

By one that witnesses, and the subject of the witness;-

قُتِلَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْأُخْدُودِ ﴿٤﴾

Woe to the makers of the pit (of fire),

ٱلنَّارِ ذَاتِ ٱلْوَقُودِ ﴿٥﴾

Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel:

إِذْ هُمْ عَلَيْهَا قُعُودٌۭ ﴿٦﴾

Behold! they sat over against the (fire),

وَهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفْعَلُونَ بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ شُهُودٌۭ ﴿٧﴾

And they witnessed (all) that they were doing against the Believers.

وَمَا نَقَمُواْ مِنْهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن يُؤْمِنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَمِيدِ ﴿٨﴾

And they ill-treated them for no other reason than that they believed in Allah, Exalted in Power, Worthy of all Praise!-

ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ شَهِيدٌ ﴿٩﴾

Him to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness to all things.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ فَتَنُواْ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوبُواْ فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ ٱلْحَرِيقِ ﴿١٠﴾

Those who persecute (or draw into temptation) the Believers, men and women, and do not turn in repentance, will have the Penalty of Hell: They will have the Penalty of the Burning Fire.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّٰتٌۭ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْكَبِيرُ ﴿١١﴾

For those who believe and do righteous deeds, will be Gardens; beneath which rivers flow: That is the great Salvation, (the fulfilment of all desires),

إِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ ﴿١٢﴾

Truly strong is the Grip (and Power) of thy Lord.

إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ يُبْدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ ﴿١٣﴾

It is He Who creates from the very beginning, and He can restore (life).

وَهُوَ ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلْوَدُودُ ﴿١٤﴾

And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Full of Loving-Kindness,

ذُو ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْمَجِيدُ ﴿١٥﴾

Lord of the Throne of Glory,

فَعَّالٌۭ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ ﴿١٦﴾

Doer (without let) of all that He intends.

هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلْجُنُودِ ﴿١٧﴾

Has the story reached thee, of the forces-

فِرْعَوْنَ وَثَمُودَ ﴿١٨﴾

Of Pharaoh and the Thamud?

بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ فِى تَكْذِيبٍۢ ﴿١٩﴾

And yet the Unbelievers (persist) in rejecting (the Truth)!

وَٱللَّهُ مِن وَرَآئِهِم مُّحِيطٌۢ ﴿٢٠﴾

But Allah doth encompass them from behind!

بَلْ هُوَ قُرْءَانٌۭ مَّجِيدٌۭ ﴿٢١﴾

Nay, this is a Glorious Qur'an,

فِى لَوْحٍۢ مَّحْفُوظٍۭ ﴿٢٢﴾

(Inscribed) in a Tablet Preserved!
